About me
Dieter Demey is an award-winning landscape, nature, architecture and reportage photographer based in Enghien (Edingen) in the Walloon Region of Belgium, near Brussels. He was born in 1982 in Jette, Belgium. In 2012 he bought his first camera and a a couple of years later he joined a photo club in Geraardsbergen. He has studied photography at LUCA School of Arts, campus Narafi, where he graduated with honors in 2023.
Demey is known for his refined and evocative visual style. With a focus on architectural and landscape photography, he has gained recognition for his ability to capture the interplay between natural light, space, and form. His work often explores the geometry of structures and the subtle relationships between human-made environments and the natural world.
Demey's photography is distinguished by a minimalist aesthetic and a strong emphasis on composition, light, and shadow. His images are both detailed and atmospheric, drawing viewers into the spaces he captures while highlighting the intricate beauty of everyday surroundings. Whether working with large architectural projects or intimate interior spaces, he has the unique ability to bring out the emotional qualities of the subject, infusing each photograph with a sense of quiet contemplation. To reinforce this, he mostly works in black and white.
